The World's Tallest Building: Burj Khalifa
The tallest building in the world is almost 1 km high!
Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE, is 828 m tall with more than 160 floors and officially opened on 4 January 2010. Its Y-shaped plan, inspired by a three-petal desert flower, reduces wind forces, and its wings step back in a spiral as it rises. It sits on a 4 m thick concrete mat over concrete piles, has a spire over 200 m long assembled inside and jacked up, and is clad in more than 28,000 glass panels.
